What People Are Saying about
The Horse Course!

Diane, I wanted to thank you and Rhonda for allowing me the chance to experience the Horse Course. What a wonderful learning experience it was for me as I am sure it was for all the other participants. Everything about my experience was positive. I enjoyed the participants and was really excited by the opportunity to have so much contact with the animals.

I really had a heightened awareness of nonverbal communications all day. This is something I personally don't pay near as much attention to as I should. I was also aware that I needed to focus more on listening since there was a built in communication deficit with the horses' inability to verbalize. I was the one that mentioned that I was glad this did not get too emotional. We men get kicked all the time for being insensitive but, no matter how you cut it, we are squeamish about displaying emotion. I felt some anxiety about this from the minute Rhonda gave the "disclaimer" that some folks may have an emotional time of it. This is certainly not a real problem of any kind and to give you a barometer of what would have been uncomfortable, Anne's tears were no problem at all.

I have already sung the praises to a couple of people at work and I have no doubt we will have folks attend from Polycom. I am very excited for you both and thankful for the wonderful experience.

Dear Diane,

Thank you sooooooo much for inviting me to the horse course...I had a great time and l learned a lot about myself, communication verbally and nonverbally, more about my own leadership skills and so much more than I never knew about horses.

I am very interested in your program because I will be starting a program with a CIS (community in service) group here in Austin and they are 'at risk youth.  There are 12 kids (8 boys- 4 girls) and they come from all sorts of backgrounds, but primarily poor home lives.  I am working with a young woman to set up a 9 week program for the kids and it kind of like an 'all about animals/ animal welfare' program.  If possible, I would like to talk about maybe doing your program at the ranch. Also, if the program is successful, it will most likely be incorporated into more CIS programs in AISD.

Again, I had a wonderful time being out in nature and working with a different kind of animal.  I think that this venture you have started will go far and you will be prosperous.  I am glad that you followed your dream and that you have the opportunity to share you dream with countless others.  There are very few who get to realize their dream and have it be their job!!

Drop me a line when you have a moment!!  And, THANK YOU AGAIN!!

Diane and Rhonda -

Thanks again so much for the opportunity to attend the Horse Course class last week.  This was really a great class.  Was hiking in Lost Maples this past weekend and my thoughts returned to this experience several times over the weekend - just absolutely loved being with the horses and learning from the lessons they have to teach us.  Bo Jangles really won my heart!!  You guys have created some terrific experiential exercises that transfer well back to the workplace and to life in general.  I have been telling friends/colleagues about this.  Want to forward the pdf flyer along to my contacts - when you produce your next flyer with upcoming dates, please send and I will forward on.  I wish you both the utmost success with this creative offering!

Also, would you guys consider doing a half-day version of this for other consultants' groups? As part of my learning curriculum, I have various half-day modules around communication, teambuilding, leadership, etc. - this is classroom learning also combined with experiential exercises.  I'm thinking that it might be a great idea to pair up the Horse Course with this–is that something you might consider in the future?

And Rhonda - your ranch is beautiful.  I was so moved by your inspirational journey that led you to the ranch.  I Visited the Spirit Reins website - what a wonderful and worthwhile mission and vision you are realizing through this organization.  Will also spread the word about this as well.  Would love to volunteer as needed and would love to help with the Ride for the Ranch event in the spring.

My best to you both,

Becky Le Blanc, Consultant
